Day 3

Chimpanzee Tracking and Swamp Walk

Today you will experience some serious monkey business! Kibale Forest National Park boasts the highest number of primate species in the world, including the chimpanzees. Approximately 5,000 chimpanzees live in the wild in Uganda, which makes it a perfect place to spot them!

In the early morning you will go with an experienced ranger for chimp tracking; you might also see other monkey species that live here. Once you locate the chimpanzees you will have a full hour of eye-to-eye contact with them. Since they are wild animals, we can never guarantee you to see them and might have to settle with hearing their hoots and hollers.

Your swamp walk (2-3 hours) will take you through grassland, small communities and some beautiful scenery, where the locals are likely to greet you with enthusiastic waves. It is usual to spot three to four different primate species during this walk, though the highlight is catching a glimpse of the great blue turaco!

Accommodation: Kibale Forest Camp

Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day 4

Queen Elizabeth National Park

The park has prolific game, including gazelle, Uganda Kob, warthog and waterbuck. Lions are often sighted both in and at the entrance to the park. Be prepared for huge numbers of hippos and elephants, and keep your eyes peeled for a leopard lazing in the sunshine.

In the afternoon you will take a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel which joins Lake George and Lake Albert. Here, you will see a lot of hippos as well as a variety of other animals which come to the waterhole to drink or bathe. You might also see buffaloes, crocodiles, bathing elephants, and a range of beautiful birds. This will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of your tour.

Wake up early to catch the sunrise as you admire the herds of buffaloes, elephants and enjoy the serene tranquillity of the African bush…

Day 6

Gorilla Trekking at the Bwindi Forest

Today you will journey into Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to see the mountain gorillas. There's a maximum group size of 8 on each gorilla visit and only 24 gorilla trekking permits available each day. Visits are strictly controlled to minimize the possibility of disturbance or transmission of disease to the animals.

Tracking gorillas in the dense forest can sometimes be wet, muddy, and uncomfortable and may reach altitudes of almost 2000 meters above sea level. The terrain is by no means easy either, so it can be strenuous and often humid, but the sheer thrill in coming across a habituated group of gorillas, dominated by a great male silverback, more than outweighs any difficulty. You need to be prepared and fit enough to walk for up to 4 hours - up and downhill. We can usually get very close to the mountain gorillas, who are placid and gentle, and watching their movements is like seeing a mirror image of yourself. Once a trekking group encounters one of the gorilla families, your visit with the gorillas will last one unforgettable hour. Afterwards, head to your lodge and soak up the incredible views.

Accommodation: Lake Mutanda Lodge

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 7

Lake Bunyonyi

Lake Bunyonyi, also known as Lake of little birds, is one of the most picturesque and tranquil destinations for those who love bird life.

The lake is famed for its serene, mist-covered hills and its 29 lush, terraced islands scattered throughout its calm waters. These islands each have their own unique stories, such as Punishment Island, where unmarried pregnant girls were once abandoned as a form of traditional punishment.

Accommodation: Bird nest Resort Bunyonyi
