Somit vermittelt es SicherheitPosted on ejm8513. May, 2019.Verified Walking Tour in Nairobi They arranged a Nairobi city walking tour for me. My guide Claire was such a lovely girl and took me around. We chatted a lot and had a nice few hours around the city, I am very grateful for her tour. I also enjoyed watching the video about the terrorist bomb attack at the US embassy in the 90s, the documentary was long so if you don't have enough time you can skip watching it but personally I'm glad I watched it to learn about what happened. The only thing maybe is the arranged time, I thought I arranged for an afternoon tour but they arranged for a morning tour so I'd recommend you to double confirm the timing.Posted on Lydiah26. April, 2019.Verified Incredible Service We had an awesome time with our guide 'Kip' he took us through Nairobi Park, the giraffe center and the sheldrick. It was such an experience. We highly recommend travel with this company. Thanks Kip for an awesome tour.Posted on Michael N25. April, 2019.Verified Well-organized tour of Rwanda genocide memorials We decided to do a tour of the Rwanda genocide memorials to better understand this tragic episode in Rwanda’s history. The tour guides were friendly and timely with the hotel pickup. The sites were well-worth a visit and the lunch exceeded expectations. We finished the day at the main genocide museum in Kigali, and the tour guide was kind enough to wait for us to complete the full museum in order to drop us off at the hotel. Overall, we highly recommend the tour.Posted on Claire C23. April, 2019.Verified Awesome city tour I'd really recommend this walking tour if you're coming to Nairobi, maybe for the first time You get informed about the city itself and the environs, and the guide is very knowledgeable as well, and willing to share experiences too, keep up 👏Posted on Bru S10. March, 2019.Verified Trip through East Africa I have to say that my 3 weeks traveling through Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda could not have been better. Kip was a fantastic guide both knowledgeable and friendly. I look forward to seeing you again kip! If you are considering cooking with these guys, just go for it, it's life changing ✌ Kind regards Will (UK)Posted on Helen B13. March, 2018.Verified An amazing day! We booked this tour through Viator as it was the cheapest that we could find out of the many tours and also included lunch. We were just expecting a taxi service to be honest, but we got so much more! Kip arrived at the hotel early, was smartly dressed and was very kind and welcoming with a big smile. The vehicle was the usual Nairobi tourist mini van with plenty of complimentary water. On our way to the Giraffe Centre, Kip gave us lots of useful local information of the areas we drove through and about Nairobi and Kenya in general which was fascinating, then waited for us while we got slobbered on by giraffes! Kip's timing was perfect as found out it's best to get to the Elephant Sanctuary early as it's so busy only being open for one hour - we got to the front of the queue, and were advised to be quick off the mark when let in to get the best spot. Seeing we were photographers, Kip knew where we would get the best shots from and where the best light was, taking us straight to the right spot and then giving us more information about which direction the elephants would be coming from etc (which everyone around us was keen to listen to also!). Lunch was due afterwards which we chose to decline as were keen to get back and pack for our flight home, but Kip still offered to take us somewhere else if we had wanted to. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable experience which I would highly recommend to anyone, easier than doing this on your own, plus you get more information and knowledge. I would love to lead photography tours to Kenya in the future, and wouldn't hesitate in using Dream It Do It Safaris.Posted on Starpo30. October, 2017.Verified Great Safari We traveled with Peter to the Maasai Mara and I couldn't fault the trip. The professionalism, organisation and safety in politically hard times made me feel safe and be able to relax and enjoy the wildlife.Posted on Marie_H11. August, 2017.Verified One on one walking tour! Thank you to Kip's sister for taking me on a Nairobi Walking Tour. I enjoyed it and wouldn't have got to see any of that without a local guide. I travel solo so I enjoy walking tours and have done many across the world. This one will always be my best. It was great to not only see the "must see" sights but also get to know Kenyan city life from a local. She was not shy on answering rather personal questions about the reality of Nairobian life. She explained very well and we got on nicely. The lunch was a surprise because I didn't know it was included! But this gave me the courage to go on and visit these kinds of places by myself. Excellent idea to include a bottle of water! All in all I'd recommend anyone who likes walking city tours to use this operator. Very professional and friendly. I like that Kip made contact with me via what's app prior to the tour commencing introducing himself. You made me feel my business was appreciated! This tour has a length of about 3 or so hours, but not hard at all. Wear good shoes!
Kip provided the full range of experiences from trekking in the jungle to see chimpanzees and gorillas to riding in a private open air cruiser. Kip also went out of his way making sure we had everything we needed from breakfast in the bush to watching the sunset with a glass of wine.
All of our lodgings were excellent and we saw every animal we wanted to see. Kip was with us every step of the way and we took great comfort in feeling so safe.
We highly recommend Travels with Kip to anyone!
Connie and Timothy
We started off with a bang by seeing lions, elephants, rhinos, and buffalos in our first park (4 of the 5 “Big 5” safari animals). From there it only got better as we added the fifth (leopard) and luckily got closer to each of the animals repeatedly. We were also lucky enough to watch the wildebeest cross the river as part of their migration in Maasai Mara.
While our guide (Stephen) can’t control the animals, he seemed to repeatedly give us the best opportunity to see them up close and in the middle of something amazing. For example, 3 lions trying to hunt warthogs, elephants traversing the savannah to their evening sleeping grounds, or a leopard snacking on some prey it had caught the day before. During one of our final outings, our guide asked what we wanted to see. Hoping for something new we said a mongoose. Within 20 minutes our safari vehicle was had stopped to watch a group of mongoose on the savannah.
We stayed at a variety of places including a hotels, resorts, lodges, and tented camps. The latter being a favorite of the family as we were able to hear a variety of animals from our tents (baboons and hyenas mostly). Plus, the camp was run by the Maasai people. It was a great opportunity to interact with a handful of Maasai who were very warm and friendly. They were especially friendly with my 17 year old nephew as he asked questions about their knives and spears.
Outside of the above, I wish I understood what to pack a little better. And understood that, given the amount of dust the vehicles kick up, gaiters or bandanas are a great idea. And this dust likely will make you want to re-wear clothes even more (most dust has washed out of my clothes) . Finally, especially if you are on a longer safari, you might want to use 1 or 2 afternoons where you can relax a little wherever you are staying (and maybe get a workout in after all the time in the vehicle).
As I said, this was an amazing adventure!
We had a wonderful blend of cultural experiences and wildlife safaris, from making banana beer with the local women, to trekking amongst Mountain Gorillas, to spotting the elusive leopard, cheetah and the Big 5 (so lucky! But our guide had 20 years of experience and knows where to go!) to chatting with Masai warriors and viewing the Masai Mara via hot air balloon. What stands out for me was the skill of our guide and driver, able to navigate carefully over muddy or uneven terrain, without triggering any of my severe car sickness. The 4×4 was safe and well equipped, great suspension, and we had access to clean bottled water. Our guide was easy and fun to talk to, I will cherish the memories of learning about each others culture and singing Hakuna Matata in the car with the sun roof up and windows down forever.
When you go with Travels with Kip, you are signing up for a team that will look after you like family, guides with experience, and a really good 4×4 (trust me I’ve tried a few other models and they’re not made the same). Guaranteed magic!
Peter of Travels with Kip isn’t just a guide—he’s a wildlife whisperer! His eagle eyes spotted a leopard camouflaged on the ground over 1km away and he even identified distant ‘logs’ as sleeping lions. While other vehicles drove past.Peter’s patience revealed a python mid-drive, proving his unmatched tracking skills.
What truly sets him apart is his genuine care for all guests. As locals,I worried we’d get lesser treatment than international tourists, but Peter went above and beyond for everyone equally—even surprising us with a magical sundowner (drinks included!). His knowledge of the Mara’s ecosystem kept us enthralled for days.
The only nitpick Our lodge (the first ever built in the Mara) felt a bit dated, though clean and with tasty food. But this wasn’t Peter’s fault, and it didn’t overshadow the 5-star safari experience he delivered. If you want passion, professionalism, and jaw-dropping wildlife encounters, book with Peter—you won’t regret it.
Life long memories made ..
